Laminate Flooring
Laminate flooring is available in a variety of finishes, including wood and tile effects. There are a number of grades available, some being harder wearing and suitable for bathrooms and kitchens. Depending on its location, thicker underlay can be used to reduce noise travel.
Engineered Flooring
Engineered flooring is glued layers of real wood on top of a baseboard. It is more expensive than laminate, but gives the look of real wood and can be sanded, then re-oiled or lacquered a number of times to extend its life.
Real Wood Flooring
Real wood flooring gives the natural look of real wood and can greatly enhance a room. Normally to fit this in the best possible way, I use the traditional technique of secret nailing it to the sub floor.
